Albert Keigley

ASHMORE – Albert Lynn Keigley, 74, of Ashmore, passed away at 11:06 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at Carle Hospital, Urbana. He was a mechanic for several years and worked at Rural King.  

A celebration of life service is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the Ashmore Presbyterian Church. Inurnment in the Ashmore Cemetery is at a later date. Markwell Funeral Home of Casey is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Keigley was born Dec. 28, 1942, at Ashmore, the son of the late Charles Albert Keigley and Cecil Irene Childress Keigley. He married Frances Ann Porter Jan. 19, 1963, at Palestine, and she survives.

He is also survived by children, Laura (Ed) Shiffler of Anderson, S.C., Steve (Shellie) Keigley of Westfield, Lynda (Steven) Crocker of Framingham, Mass., and Holly (Trey) Wright of Charleston; grandchildren, Victoria, Abby, Sam, Mary and Elijah Shiffler, Adam and Andrew Kerrick, Levi Keigley, Hannah and Kayleah Foltz, Nick and Michael Davis, Michael Crocker and Willy, Justin and Triesten Wright; great-grandchildren, Kourtney, Emily, Cade, Trinity and one on the way; sister, Betty Sorensen of Charleston; special friend, Will Phipps; nieces and nephews; and his pets, Tinker, Lilly and Olivia. 

He was preceded in death by brothers, Willis Keigley and Bill Keigley; and sisters, Leona Allen and Lucille Matthews. 

Mr. Keigley was fondly known as the lawn mower man at Rural King. He enjoyed watching westerns and always had a good story to tell.
