Teena Beason

NEWMAN – Teena M. Beason, 74, of Kankakee, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Presence St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. She was retired from the University of Illinois.

A funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Joines Funeral Home. A brief graveside service accompanies burial in Payne Cemetery, near Brocton. Craig Roller is officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beason was born Dec. 11, 1942, at Hume, the daughter of the late Mendel and Lois Roller Forsyth. She married Jack Beason, who preceded her in death.

She is survived three children, Ellyn (Tim) Honey of Narvon, Pa., Cindy Quigley (Scott Smothers) of Manteno and Glen (Laura) Beason of Franklin Park; grandchildren, Conner, Allison, Grant, Lily, Krystal and Benjamin; one brother, Don (Kathy) Forsyth of Eastvale, Calif.; and one sister, Linda (Cork) Goby of Newman.

Mrs. Beason enjoyed spending time and celebrating with her family. She loved attending her grandkids concerts and recitals.

She was an avid Illini sports fan and had season tickets for both football and basketball and enjoyed attending the games with her sister and daughter.

Lunch will be served at the Newman Legion Hall following the services, and the family requests those attending the service to wear orange and blue as a celebration of her love and passion for the Fighting Illini.
