Michael Wayne Taylor, 55, of Paris, and formerly of Petersburg, Va., passed away at 2 p.m. EDT Friday, May 12, 2017, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind. He worked in the offices of the Petersburg Taxi Company for a number of years and had previously worked at Home Depot of Petersburg.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Templeton Funeral Home, with a flag presentation at 7 p.m. by American Legion Post #211. Private Interment in Edgar Cemetery is at a later date.
Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 6, 1961, at Paris, the son of John G. and Ella Utterback Taylor Sr.
Survivors include his father, John Taylor Sr. of Paris; a brother, John Taylor Jr. of Paris; and a stepbrother, Victor Vallente of Paris; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Frye; and his stepmother, Patricia Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3601 of Paris. He also enjoyed volunteering for Paris Community Hospital and Meals on Wheels. He was kind to animals and dearly loved his pets through the years.
Memorial donations may be made to the Edgar County Humane Association.
