ROLLA, Mo. – Word has been received of the Jan. 2, 2017, death of Mary Lee Reed, 70, of Rolla, Mo. She was a retired teacher.
A memorial service celebrating her life is at a later date.
Mrs. Reed July 3, 1946, at Paris, the daughter of the late Charles McClelland and Henrietta Armstrong McClelland. She married to Dr. X.R. “Rex” Reed Jr. who preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Andrew (Stacey) Reed of Rolla; a sister, Martha Melcher of Port Angeles, Wash.; extended family members; and dear friends.
Mrs. Reed had a passion for teaching children and taught first grade at Bourbon Elementary School in Bourbon, Mo., for 32 years, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed gardening, children’s poetry, animals of all kinds and was an avid reader. She will be greatly missed.
