MARSHALL – Bobby Joe Crawford, 73, of Marshall, passed away unexpectedly June 25, 2016.
His wife Pat had just returned home from surgery two days prior to his death and the family opted to focus on her health and recovery rather than having an immediate funeral. Mr. Crawford’s full obituary appeared in the July 9 issue of The Prairie Press.
Those acquainted with Mr. Crawford knew him to be an informal man. He previously said something to the effect of, “If you cry over the loss of someone, you aren’t crying for them. They aren’t in pain. You are crying for yourself.” He was a logical man and for those reasons the family has decided a celebration of life service is more fitting than a funeral.
The celebration of life is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the parish hall of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 414 S. 6th St., Marshall. The family requests those attending come with fond memories, stories and photos to share.
