Joel Warren Osborne, 80, of Paris, passed away at 12:03 a.m. EST Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind. He was retired after a long career with GTE as a construction supervisor.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be at a later date. Templeton Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Osborne was born July 13, 1936, at Princeton, Ind., the son of the late James W. and Lois M. Coleman Osborne. He married Nancy L. Andrews April 21, 1957, at Princeton, Ind., and she preceded him in death Feb. 14, 2006.
Survivors include three sons, Jim (Jennifer) Osborne of Paris, Stephen Osborne of Bloomington and David (Leann) Osborne of Alameda, Calif.; a brother, Gary (Patty) Osborne of Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren, Staci Webb and D.J. Osborne; two step-grandchildren, Cameron and Kyle Daugherty; two great-grandchildren, Mason Webb and Syrus Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jan Osborne.
Mr. Osborne was a member of the First Christian Church of Paris, the Ansar Shrine Temple and the Edgar County Shrine Club. He was a life member of the George A. Sentel Lodge #764 A.F. & A.M. as well as a 50-year member of the AASR Valley of Bloomington. He was a past president of the Paris youth baseball program, where he volunteered for many years.
