NEWMAN – Michael Lee Kurek, 60, Newman, passed away Sept. 26, 2016, at his home. He was employed by FS and previously worked as a tuckpointer in the Chicago area.
A private graveside service for the family was Oct. 1. The Joines Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Kurek was born Oct. 17, 1955, at Chicago, the son of the late William Kurek Jr. and Marie Ann Notariano Kurek.
He is survived by a son, Robert Kurek; his stepmother, Sue Kurek; a stepsister, Angela Sue (Michael V.) Emery; a niece, Jade Emery; a nephew, Skylar Emery; and people special in his life, Linda Hollian and Leticia Shea.
Mr. Kurek was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and caring for his dog-Penelope.
