Robert Clark

Robert Francis Clark, 80, of Paris, passed away at 6:59 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at Carle Hospital, Urbana. He was retired after 34 years with Illini FS first as a feed manager and later as manager of the Farmtown Store.

Services celebrating his life are 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at Templeton Funeral Home, with Bro. Kurt Speece officiating. Military rites by American Legion Post #211 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3601 will accompany burial in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.

Mr. Clark was born Sept. 15, 1936, at Paris, the son of the late Eugene and Lorene Ward Clark. He married Mary Ruth Horton Nov. 7, 1958, at Horace Baptist Church, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Robert E. (Laura) Clark of Paris; a daughter, Cindy J. (John) Knobloch of Winterset, Iowa; a brother, Ray (Sandy) Clark of Paris; a sister, Linda Taylor of Chrisman; three grandchildren, Kenton Clark of Paris, Ryan (Julie) Knobloch and Ross (Leah) Knobloch both of Winterset; and four great-grandchildren, Drake and Beau Knobloch, Haylee Clark and Laney Knobloch.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kaleb Clark; and a granddaughter, Ashley Clark.

Mr. Clark was a U.S. Army veteran, and served in post-war Korea. He was a member of Paris Lodge #268 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons for more than 50 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post #211 and a lifetime member of VFW Post #3601. He will be remembered as a proud, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Memorial donations may be made to the Compassionate Food Pantry or to Faith In Action of Edgar County.
