
Joy Lynn Scott, 57, of Paris, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at her residence. She formerly worked in residential care at the Southern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled for a number of years and was a devoted homemaker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Barry Harmon as celebrant. Private interment is at a later date.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. The recitation of the rosary is 3:30 p.m. Tuesday before visitation at the funeral home.
Mrs. Scott was born Oct. 8, 1958, at Kankakee, the daughter of Arthur and Janet (Kern) Grayson. She married Bruce E. Scott Sept. 15, 1984, and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Janet Linkey of Trenton; two sons, Ryan Scott of Columbus, Ohio, and Richard (Sarah) Scott of Fort Campbell, Ky.; a daughter, Jessica (Ray) Felix of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Diane Nye of Carlyle and Jeanette Grayson of Rockford; three grandchildren, Gavin and Amelia Scott and Raymond Felix; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Arthur and Jerry Grayson; her stepfather, Robert Linkey; and a brother, Allen Grayson.
Mrs. Scott was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Paris. She was an exceptional cook, and enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. She was fiercely devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's School or to the Edgar County Humane Association.
