MARSHALL – Victor E. Hollingsworth, 86, of Marshall, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at the Linda E. White Hospice House, Evansville, Ind. He was retired from the Illinois Cereal Mills at Paris.
A service honoring of his life is 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Pearce Funeral Home. Military graveside rites accompany burial in Livingston Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, and again from 11 a.m. until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hollingsworth was born May 17, 1931, in Edgar County, the son of the late Lloyd and Lucy North Hollingsworth. He married May Faye Hollingsworth Sept. 30, 1953, and she survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Daryl Hollingsworth of Bloomington, Ind., Dale Hollingsworth of Washington, Ind.; a daughter, Darla (Brent) Hall of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, HL Hollingsworth and Harold Hollingsworth, both of Marshall; a sister, Faye Baggs of Marshall; 20 grandchildren; and more than 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Hollingsworth, Paul Hollingsworth and Ezra Hollingsworth; and two sisters, Fairy Higginbotham and Carrie B. Ogle.
Mr. Hollingsworth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
