CASEY – Clarence Robert Stepina, 87, of Casey, passed away at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon. He was employed as an over the road union truck driver for more than 35 years.
A graveside service is 3 p.m. Saturday, May 27, in the Vernon Addition Cemetery, with Pastor Tom Skinner officiating. The Casey Vetereans of Foreign Wars, Hazel Dell American Legion and Martinsville American Legion will provide military rites. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until the service at the cemetery. The Markwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Stepina was born June 6, 1929, at Chicago, the son of the late Frank Augusta Stepina and Edna Mae Spitz Stepina.
Survivors include his children, Robert (Donna) Stepina of Sarasota, Fla., Eric (Nicole) Stepina of Casey, Kurt (Ramona) Stepina of Sarasota, Fla., Anthony (Lynette) Stepina of Charleston, Candace (Richard) Leonetti of Westfield and Nancy Stepina of Westfield; sister, Dorothy Simon of Miami, Fla.; mother of his children, Norma Stepina of Westfield; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death three brothers and one sister.
- Stepina was a Korean War veteran and served in both the U.S. Navy and Army.
