Mary Catherine Robinson, 88, of Alexandria, Va., passed away March 6, 2017. She was a retired homemaker.
A funeral service is 11 a.m., Friday, March 17, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home, with Brother Don Pruiett officiating. Burial is in Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Robinson was born June 7, 1928, in Edgar County, the daughter of the late Homer Franklin Funkhouser and Nellie Coral Trogdon. She married John Waldo
Robinson in 1947, and he preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2001.
She is survived by children, Mary Elizabeth (John) Gretzschel of St. Louis, Mo., Katherine Sue (William) McIsaac of Alexandria Va., Ellen (Alwyn) Robinson Davies of Vacaville Calif., Bryant Lee (Christina) Robinson of Culpeper Va., and Daniel Pursell (Rebecca) Robinson of Temecula Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-children.
She was preceded in death by brothers, C. Franklin Funkhouser and James S. Funkhouser.
Mrs. Robinson raised her family as a Navy wife.
