
MARSHALL – Dorothy L. Kirby, 94, of Terre Haute, Ind., passed away at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2017, at Meadows Manor North Retirement and Convalescent Center, Terre Haute. She was employed by Quaker Maid for approximately 40 years and later worked at Pitman-Moore.
Services honoring her life are 1 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Pearce Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park at Terre Haute. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kirby was born Jan. 3, 1923, in rural Clark County, the daughter of the late Theodore and Flossie May Joy Somers. She married Leo W. Kirby June 15, 1939, and he preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1984.
Surviving are a brother, Norman (Mary) Somers of Dennison and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Albert, John and Mitchell; and three sisters, Erma Alcorn, Irene Calloway and Berniece Baggs.
The family extends special thanks to Sandy Shelton, Kathy Soullierer and Darrell Kirby for their many appreciated visits.
