KANSAS – Carol Jean Rardin, 82, of Kansas, passed away at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Palm Terrace, Mattoon. She was retired after owning and operating the Beauty Nook beauty shop in Kansas for more than 15 years.
Services celebrating her life follow an Eastern Star service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Templeton Funeral Home in Kansas. Burial follows in Fairview cemetery, east of Kansas. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rardin was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Edgar County, the daughter of the late Homer and Alice Wilson Wilhoit. She married Harrold Dean Rardin June 28, 1952, at Pleasant Hill Church, and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Doug Rardin of Kansas and Todd Rardin of Clay City, Ind.; a daughter, Cathy Manley of Charleston; a sister, Brenda Justice of Kansas; three grandchildren, Robert Dale Rardin of Tuscola, Chase Alan Rardin of Norfolk, Va., and Deanna Marie (Gus) Camp of Terre Haute, Ind.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Bardell.
Mrs. Rardin was a member of the Kansas Christian Church and of the Kansas Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 774, where she was a past matron.
