“Cricket” Colter

Catherene C. “Cricket” Colter, 86, of Paris, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Paris Community Hospital. She was employed in maintenance and housekeeping at Cadillac Products and also worked at Zenith Corporation, Paris Metals and Northrup King.  

Following cremation, a memorial celebration of life is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Lake Ridge Christian Church. Private burial of the cremains is at a later date in Edgar Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. 

Mrs. Colter was born Jan. 23, 1930, at Paris, the daughter of the late Herman and Lucille (Morris) Taylor. 

Survivors include her children, Randel T. (Sandy) Colter of Paris, Mary Lou (Lennie) Erwin of Paris and Carol Kay (Patrick) Davis of Edgewater, Fla.; two brothers, John Taylor and James (Kay) Taylor of Paris; grandchildren, Courtney (Chad) Rigdon, Brandy (Dave) Pine and Eric (Brittany) Erwin, all of Paris and Brian Davis of Edgewater, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Ely Rigdon, Laela Rigdon, Staley Pine, Halas Pine, David Davis and Mackenzy Tibbs. 

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Taylor, Roy Taylor and Morris Taylor; and a sister, Barbara Thomas.

Mrs. Colter was a member of Lake Ridge Christian Church. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels or Pleasant Meadows Senior Living.
