
Charlet D. Emrick, 89, of Paris, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was a devoted homemaker.
Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in Hoult Cemetery, at Chrisman, with Bro. Karl Marshall officiating. Burial follows. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.
Mrs. Emerick was born Dec. 23, 1927, at Chrisman, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Grace Scott Wilson.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Ray (Reine) Emrick of Marshall, Texas; a daughter, Debbie Jo (Charles) Curl of Leesburg, Va.; a sister, Jessie Branson of Paris; two grandchildren, Matthew (Dawn) Long and Kaitlin Emrick; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Preston Long; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two infant twin daughters, five brothers, Derral, Jerry, Billy, Scotty and Earl Wilson; and three sisters, Margie Powell, Rozella Travis, and June Grafton.
Mrs. Emerick will be remembered as a talented cook, known especially for her son’s favorite chicken and dumplings and buttermilk pies. She was also a loyal Fighting Illini and Chicago Bulls basketball fan.
