Betty J. Van Houtin, 91, of Paris, passed away at 2:45 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Paris Health Care Center. She was a supervisor at U.O. Colson and Company for 43 years.
A graveside service and entombment is 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Edgar Cemetery mausoleum. Visitation is from noon to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.
Mrs. Van Houtin was born June 18, 1927, at Paris, the daughter of the late Austin and Barbara Cunningham Newman. She married Hurley Van Houtin in Paris in 1977, and he passed away Jan. 4, 1993.
She is survived by her stepchildren: Art Van Houtin of Paris, Olin Van Houtin of Ashmore and Jerry Van Houtin of Paris; several nieces and nephews; and a niece-in-law, Margaret Newman of Paris.
She was preceded in death by her stepson, Richard Van Houtin; her nephew, Terry Newman; and her siblings, Louis Newman and Margaret Newman.
Mrs. Van Houtin was a member of Gods Mission of Faith Church.
